Stuck
So I have been stuck at 214-215 since the middle of last month. It would appear the honeymoon is over, the rubber has hit the road, etc. I am walking 8 circuits each day, drinking enough water to sink a battleship, not snacking, not eating large portions (my appetite has decreased), stopping before I am too full, increased fruits and veggies, no fast or processed food, am working my exercise dvd. Now what?

Stay the course - you've hit a plateau and just need to get past it. Have you increased fruit too much?
ReplyDeleteMaybe vary your exercise routine, or change around the amount of carbs vs protiens your're getting? I'm just parroting what others have said,i don't really know what I'm talking about... LOL. You'll get through it though, I've got faith in ya!
ReplyDeleteGinger-For fruit I am having a half an orange or banana for breakfast and an apple for lunch. I still haven't gotten dinner down for fruit yet.
ReplyDeleteThanks Ginger and Losing It, I appreciate your help. Have a great weekend.
hmmm...doesn't sound like fruit is the problem. Maybe you've cut back too much overall. At Weight Watchers, we are given a set number points for the week and we are encouraged to eat them all. People, including myseld, in an attempt to lose quicker, will undercut those points and decrease them. In my case, I have found that to backfire on me. It usually ends up in a week where my loss was not much to speak of. I wouldn't encourage you to eat if you aren't hungry, but smetimes it is true, you do have to eat to lose - as crazy at it sounds!
ReplyDeleteGinger, I've decided to keep a food diary for a week or so and keep a tally of fat and calories of the things I've been eating. This way I will be able to see what's what.
ReplyDeleteI'll list things during the day, and in the evening check things out in my food counter. Also, I am going to try to do my exercise dvd every day instead of every other day. Thanks for your help Ginger.
I haven't gone far enough to hit a plateau yet~ACK! So take a minute and rejoice for how far you've come, and then see it as time for your skin to tighten up and adjust a bit. That's my silver-lining approach, anyway! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for your kind words. I know how frustrating it is to feel that you are doing everything right and still the scale doesn't move. Not that I have been doing everything right lately, LOL, but I have been there in the almost 17 months that I have been on this journey.
ReplyDeletewww.myfitnesspal.com is an easy place to keep a food journal and track calories and nutrition, plus you can keep track of your exercise there as well. It is a free service. I started out writing everything down in a notebook, and having to look up the info in a book. myfitnesspal is so much easier. You can even put in recipes that you use and figure out how many calories per serving.
Said a prayer for you a few minutes ago. Have a blessed day.
